Job Description
This is a term-limited position ARPA funded for one year from date of hire.
The start date for this position will be in December 2024, based on ARPA funding regulations.
This full-time position is benefits eligible.
Come support the expansion of our culture of performance excellence and project management. This unique role will report to the Manager of Innovation and Performance Excellence in the City Manager’s Office to build capacity across the organization for first-rate project management, communication, and performance management. This is an exciting and fast-paced position that will be part of implementing the city’s newly adopted Strategic Plan, Horizon 2027 and working to support the city’s fifteen departments. The position is ideal for an individual interested in a career in city management or other facets of local government.
The ideal candidate enjoys conducting research, data analysis, key performance metric development, report writing, and is interested in learning about municipal government at the leadership level.
Additional Training and Development Opportunities:
Membership to Colorado City & County Management (CCCMA) or similar, including training opportunities and potential conference attendance.
Contact and mentorship with the City Manager, Deputy City Managers, and city management office staff.
Leadership training offered through the City of Littleton Training and Development program.
This position is for emerging local government professionals to gain experience in municipal government by working on special projects in the City Manager’s Office. The Management Fellow will oversee assigned projects matched to the Management Fellow’s interests and skill sets, and conduct research, analytical work, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.

Hiring pay range $27.24 - $30.10 per hour
This full-time position is non-exempt per FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, primarily in person, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, with some early morning and evenings. Flexible schedule and telework options may be available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical assistance to City departments to assist in the development of performance metrics;
Assists in maintaining the City-wide performance dashboard to track progress in key performance metrics;
Proposes ideas for new performance metrics;
Assists in the tracking of the City’s strategic plan and key projects and milestones;
Assists departments with identifying areas for process improvement;
Works with departments on mapping processes to look for areas for improvement;
Partners with departments to engineer improvements to existing processes;
Tracks progress in implementing process improvements to determine whether processes are working more effectively;
Assists with tracking and reporting progress on various projects and initiatives;
Performs tasks and daily activities in support of the City Manager's Office; and
Attend City Council or other board and community meetings as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree or substantial coursework completed toward master’s degree in public administration, public affairs, public policy, or a similar field.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
Skilled in conducting research, collecting data, synthesizing information, and creating thorough and meaningful reports and presentations.
Interest in general principles and practices of public administration, including leadership and council strategic initiatives.
Passion for continuous process improvement and best practices, particularly as they relate to the delivery of government services.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an organized manner.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Work is performed indoors in a standard office environment.
Occasionally lifting and carrying of files or other objects weighing up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
