This is a term-limited position funded by ARPA through December 31, 2024. 

This full-time position is benefits eligible. 


The City of Littleton is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager that will provide project management leadership on a wide variety of projects that will impact Littleton’s downtown area including a recently expanded Historic District. These projects include planning, infrastructure, construction, economic development initiatives, and community events.

The ideal candidate has expertise in managing complex projects that include both private and public stakeholders. They will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  

Some of the exciting projects they will be working on include the Downtown (DDA) Feasibility Study and Downtown Mobility & Streetscaping Study, historical preservation and rehabilitation, working on economic impact, and execution of construction and maintenance for downtown.

This full-time position is exempt per FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Starting salary at or near $118,961 per year  

Salary range: $95,168-$142,753

Work Schedule:  The successful candidate in this position is eligible to work  a hybrid schedule, some days teleworking and in person at the office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Co-Manage RFP and selection process for downtown mobility and streetscape feasibility and design project with Public Works staff and city stakeholders.
  • Manage process for staff to review and analyze findings and determine potential outcomes of mobility and streetscape study.
  • Build strong relationships with downtown stakeholders, serving as the city representative on key issues and projects.
  • Coordinate with business owners, residents, developers and other stakeholders regarding all related plans and projects.
  • Coordinate with referral agency partners such as Xcel, and Denver Water.
  • Help identify and implement projects and programs that improve the accessibility, aesthetics and economic vitality of downtown.
  • Responsible to ensure that adequate project funding is secured enabling project delivery on time and under budget.
  • Work as a liaison across city projects related to downtown to facilitate coordination, communications, and strategic management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of city efforts.
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Construction management,

  • Minimum six (6) years of established experience in project management, or 

  • An equivalent combination of or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified as a PMP (Project Management Professional) 
  • Master’s Degree in related field

  • Familiar with general economic development principles. 
  • Strong problem solving and negotiations skills.
  • Advanced project management skills that include diverse projects and stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in coordination and communication with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; working and communicating with all organizational levels and project stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of urban planning and downtown revitalization trends. 
  • Knowledge of laws governing construction contracts and contracting. 
  • Advanced skills in developing Request for Proposals (RFP) and Bids for design/consulting services.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and to compare them with construction progress. 
  • Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
  • Knowledge of multi-modal transportation solutions, placemaking concepts, and historic preservation.
  • Experience working with special districts such as Downtown Development Authorities, Business Improvement Districts, or other associations. 
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, to prepare reports and documents that integrate text, graphics, and quantitative information.
  • Highly skilled in technology to effectively manage workflow; using smartphone/tablet, applications, traditional laptop/desktop applications, digital photography, and other project management tools.
